Osama bin Laden, Junior Seau brain and Update on FAMU hazing

Newly released documents seized in the 2011 raid on Osama bin Laden’s compound show bin Laden had ordered al-Qaida to assassinate President Barack Obama. The documents were posted online by the Combating Terrorism Center  yesterday. In some of the papers seized,  bin Laden was concerned about the organization's failures and its loss of support among Muslims.

An autopsy confirmed Junior Seau, 43, whose career as a star NFL linebacker spanned 20 seasons, died Wednesday at his home in Oceanside, Calif., of a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the chest.

In a press release, the Medical Examiner's Office said Seau's body will be released to a mortuary designated by the family and that the family will made the decision regarding further study of his brain for possible damage from head injuries during his long football career.

Remember the story  last November at Florida A&M University, where the school band's drum major was beaten to death on a bus after the Florida Classic in Orlando?

Well turns out it was an initiation rite into a  fraternity and Nine men have been charged with hazing for their alleged part in it.

The defendants, between the ages of 21 and 26, are accused of "endangering the mental or physical health or safety" of five pledges to the Alpha Phi Alpha chapter, according to documents filed this week .

In that document, the nine are accused of "striking (the pledges) with paddles and/or striking with hands " 

Now No other details have been released but The beating brought to light what some called a hazing epidemic at FAMU, and the university says it is implementing policy changes to address the problem.
