Decline in Black & Hispanic voters, Killer dies, & Walmart gets sues

The number of black and Hispanic registered voters has taken an enormous decline since four years ago and has the Obama campaign scrambling to sign up voters. The number of black voters dropped 7 percent, while Hispanic voters fell 5 percent. According to the Washington Post, This is the first time it has dropped in almost 40 years and The decrease is being attributed to the struggling economy, which made it necessary for many to relocate in search of jobs. Now massive voter-registration pushes are starting across the country BUT That push is being made more complicated by new legislation passed in eight states that require voters to show state-issued photo ID cards.

In what may be the first sign of serious blowback for Walmart after a bombshell New York Times report last month, the United States’ second-largest pension fund said it is suing the company over allegations of misconduct in Mexico. In a statement,  The California State Teachers’ Retirement System  said it has filed suit based on the allegations made in the Times report, which said Walmart used bribery to speed its growth in Mexico, then covered up the payouts. The fund’s CEO said in a statement that the case was intended to ensure “that similar misconduct is not repeated in the future.”
