Man Resigns After Whipping his Stepson & Manhunt in Alabama



The city official, Anthony Sanchez, who was arrested after a video surfaced that appeared to show him hitting his stepson with a belt -- has resigned from his position as the Imperial County water agency director. Authorities arrested Sanchez on Friday on suspicion of felony child abuse after his neighbor posted a video online. Reportedly after news spread of Sanchez's arrest, more than 1,000 people signed an online petition calling for his recall.

After launching a massive manhunt in Alabama, Police named 22-year-old Desmonte Leonard as a suspect for the killing of three people, including two former Auburn University football players, and injuring three more at a Saturday night party. The Atlanta Journal-Constitution quoted a witness who claimed to be at the party where the shooting took place, said it started as a scuffle over a girl. The University Heights apartment complex where the shooting took place reportedly houses many of the Auburn University’s athletes.
